Re: Who's Tone do you prefer ?

I will always have a hard-on for Yngwie's tone, there's just something about those non master volume early 70's Mark II heads...

This.

Not to mention he has some of the smoothest sounding sweeping I have ever heard.

Gotta dig putting the reverb on 11.

I voted for Lynch and Vai, but my vote would have gone to Vito Bratta if he were on the list.

I voted for John Petrucci who's tone I have reallyliked. I also love Satch's tone. But I'm a metal head and I love Michael Amotts tone from Arch Enemy the most for my style.

SRV for sure. The 13 gauge strings tuned down, and the "woody" single coil squawk cant be beat.

Re: Who's Tone do you prefer ?

I've always been a big satch and Vai fan, but just thinking back to that old G3 concert, ... I'd have to say I really liked Johnson's tone with the Gibson. It was a really warm and full tone that I love. Now, Eric Johnson will never be my favorite guitarist, but I really love that Gibson tone.

Re: Who's Tone do you prefer ?

Johnson, hands down. He's the king of tone, you can't match it.

Honorable mention to SRV, greatest blues guitarist ever aside from Hendrix.
