Re: Who's Tone do you prefer ?

JP in 5th? Hard to believe. Vai in 1st, expected.

My 1st choice is JP. I would choose older Vai tone over the newer Legacy tone.

Re: Who's Tone do you prefer ?

I've been listening to a lot of the Brian Setzer Orchestra lately and there's something about his raw stripped down tone that's kind of pleasing. Not my favorite tone but I definitely love what he does with his...

Re: Who's Tone do you prefer ?

Anyone heard Greg Howe's new Album 'sound proof?' This thread reminds me of the tracks "Connoisseur, Pt. 1" and "Pt. 2." It'll make you laugh and feel embarassed about your GAS tendencies.

Give that CD a listen an you'll hear a virtuoso at his best. His tone is great too. The only thing about it that I think I could critique is that it gets a bit overly technical in sections where he does things that not only are physically dificult to do on the guitar but mentally hard to wrap your brain around.

Re: Who's Tone do you prefer ?

Paul Gilbert's distorted tone melts my face off.

Frenzy, GOOMY, Technical Difficulties, Scarified, Addicted to that Rush, Rusty Old Boat.

Amaaaazing.

I voted for Paulo.

It was a tough call over Vai.
