XM or Sirius?

I've had XM for a year, and heard that Sirius was supposed to be "way better"...so I put it in the wife's car.

Here's the deal:

Sirius: Much better music, no question. Especially the rock channels. A lot more choices and better playlists.

But, on the whole...XM is a better package. More channels, more sports (NHL!), comedy, etc etc. Sirius can't even come close.

Re: XM or Sirius?

Sirius because of Howard Stern and the NFL games.

XM because it came with my car.

Re: XM or Sirius?

I have sirius in my car and never listen to it. I always forget I have it. Until I get the bill, and then I listen to it for about three days and then forget again...

So all in all I listen to it for about 12 days a year. Not that it's bad at all, it's got some pretty good stuff I guess.

Re: XM or Sirius?

The first time I turned the xm radio in my accord, I was hooked. The clarity, the music and best of all no commercials. Although some stations get kind of boring (esp. during the holidays), it's definitely better than regular fm radio. The only time I listen to fm radio is when I want to listen to local news.

Re: XM or Sirius?

Question seems to become obsolete as they are probably merging. Heard it on the radio yesterday.

I know the feeling Jax, I dont use mine nearly enough. Iinstalled it like a chump and didnt put the antennea on the roof so my reception is hit and miss at best, when I get my next house I will install it the right way and use it more with my whole-house system

my car has an aux. input for a 1/8 cable and my docking station for the radio has a direct out for an 1/8 inch so i just run my signal direct from the reciver into the car's stereo , reception isn't a problem any more .

if you have an older car with a tape deck , you can buy a tape that sticks in there and it has an 1/8 cable and you can run it that way as well .

+1 I absoluely love XM, something great on all the time. World music, comedy, it's all there. Plus lots of 80s metal when you want it!

Re: XM or Sirius?

When I do get in the mood to listen to sirius, I usually find some new band to check out that I never would have heard any other way. Also, where else can you hear Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza than on satellite
