01 jem7vwh v 05 jem7vwh difference?

can anyone tell me the difference between these 2 models of jem? i am getting a 01 jem7vwh i just want to know how much they are off

The '01 has a Lo Pro Edge trem, (considered to be one of the best), locking trem posts, an ebony fretboard and the neck has a scarf joint at the headstock.

The '05 has an Edge Pro, non-locking posts, rosewood board and a 5 pc. maple/ walnut neck.

Depends what you consider to be better! Most people round here would say that the 01 is better (or at least more desireable).

I prefer the ebony fret board, but I love the new 5 piece necks. It's really a matter of preference. You'll find people on this site who will say lo-pro is better, and others will say Edge Pro is better. Play e'm both and the get the one you like. It's not a popularity contest.

The '01 in my opinion is the better guitar because it has a Lo-Pro. I also like the look of the Ebony board against the white headstcok/body.

As someone else said, the '01 will be a far more sought-after guitar as well.

Ebony makes me drool. Feels a LOT smoother than rosewood to me. Not to mention the contrast with the vine.

I don't use the trem much at all, so it doesn't make much of a difference to me.

I've got a 03 which is a trasition one: Ebony + Edge pro. That one is IMHO the best.

grrr. there is no "the best". only personal preference.

but while i'm at it, my '04 is the best. rosewood smells nicer than ebony, edge pro fetches more money on e~bay, and it has the scarf-jointed neck just like mom used to make.

why? because i said so.

I have an '03 as well. I have not heard rosewood on a 7vwh, but I do love the way the ebony sounds for sure on mine. Who knows though, I might like the rosewood better!
