The Edge Pro (is what I used - sorry, and is cosmic black as a part not supplied on any model I seen) is a great upgrade. Better sustain, bigger studs, less chance of strings snapping, no rattles like the original, faster string changing, and increased tuning accuracy due to the U-shaped studs I used.
I did the same to an ebony '99
7VWH but without routing. Although this did already have the locking studs as they should, my '04 7VWH needed the anchors replaced too - beware of this if you want to replace them as you need anchors with a solid base for it to lock into - wood is soft and does not work without it.
As I say, I play guitar and prosperity means cr*p to me. Do I want a collectable? Not if I won't play it. Same for me with cars. I'd rather keep an old classic running than keep it in the garage.
The routing was done in no time at all...just the one CUT

(I feel their pain!) and was done with a complete setup and fret-dress for £100.
Although the risk of routing to upgrade the trem looked fine, it was the routing for the based-anchors which was a worry. But strangely the old smaller type were held in with either glue or filler. So the size of the actual hole was not far out. I was only praying that the glue came out without pulling pieces of wood!
Gladly it didn't
