2005 JEMs

Apparantly the JEM7DBK is being discontinued, if thats true, what is going to replace it(I know nothings certain but even a rumour is enough for me)? Because I'm going to go to Asia in a week and I want to get a 'cheapo' JEM that ISN'T a 333/555(I'm only 16 so I don't have alot of cash to toss around), and I don't know whether I should get a DBK while its being rushed out or if I should wait and see what the new models promise.
Thanks guys.

Keep in mind being "discontinued" does not mean none will be available in retail. New models are more expensive... grab the DBK if you want a new JEM at a reasonably affordable price. ...glen

Glen's right. One reason guitars end up getting discontinued is because of lackluster sales, this means that there should still be plenty of stock for a few months at least. Maybe you'll find a good blowout price on one.

Does the new mirror have an ebony fretboard? thats what the pic on vai.com shows, its also interesting to see which pickups are installed on it.

I don't think that's an ebony board. They just changed the specs of the 7VWH last year because Sr. Vai prefers rosewood. It looks like rosewood to me in the pics. Don't recall what pups... There's a couple different threads about that guitar...

Re: 2005 JEMs

About the Ebony for the fretboards just 10 days ago an Ibanez endorser told me that he was going to have a custom made for himself and at Ibanez said that ebony wasn't available anymore ,for freboards anyway.
As soon as I have more info I'll let you know.
And yes if the DBK goes for a great price I'll try to snag one
Sincerely
Stefano

Any U.S. jemsiters interested in a NOS '02 DBK? A dealer near me has one in his display case, with a nice chromey Lo-Pro Edge trem.

This is not an advert for sale. PM me for more info.
