$30.00 to ship a neck??

So I was at the 'bay and saw a neck that looked good. But his shipping, IMO, was a bit ... um ... steep. $30.00 and he will NOT combine shipping on anything?! Do you all think that's a bit HIGH?

Shipping charges can/do cover the cost of packaging, and sellers fees. E bay does not charge sellers fees on the shipping amount, so plenty of sellers will inflate the shipping to cover paypal, and bay fees.

I charge $20 to ship a neck in the lower 48. FedEx ground with signature, and insurance is about $10-$15 depending on value. The rest goes to cover fees.

Re: $30.00 to ship a neck??

I usually charge $15 depending on packaging available. A non-tiltback headstock neck can fit perfectly in those triangular USPS Priority Mail boxes with a few layers of bubble wrapping around it and after shipping fees and insurance it comes out pretty accurate.

If there person isn't willing to combine shipping, certainly a chunk of that $30 is meant to be profit even past e-bay and pay-pal expenses.
