77 or 7s?

What is a beter series. I think the 77 look like they mught be better all around, but I really like an all access neck joint. What do you huys think about this. (I think the blue 77 with the maple neck is the best looking guitar I've ever seen by the way)

I agree

As a proud owner of a 7VBSL, 77FP and 77BFP, i think i would say the BFP is the coolest of the three, the all access is a big help...and yes, you notice the difference, but the access on my Les Paul is worse, and it never seemed to bother me... or anyone else who didnt mind altering thier technique a bit to accomodate the joint (Zakk Wylde...Slash...etc...etc)

7 versus 77

I both own the all acces heel joint and the old version on several jems.
It is only a matter of habbit. I used to play 5 years on my jem77. When I bought a jem with the aahj it was for me no big deal to swap. Maybe it is harder to swap from a aahj to an old heel joint.
Buy first an old jem and after that you buy an new Otherwise you will never appreciate the old jems.

By the way the BFP is so beautiful, one of the most beautiful woman on earth! :P

I'm a proud owner of a 77 BFP and a 77 fp... But I always try other jem 7 from my friends or from some music shop in London and Paris... For me :

aanj makes a little difference for me...
But one thing you must consider is that the neck has a different feeling also...
- Of course the freatbord could be maple and rosewood on a 77 , but you can have ebony on a 7...
- But the most important thing is that the 77 has a "special wood finish (clearcoat?!?) so the neck feels so natural... And I love that!!!!!!!!!!! :P You've got like a real piece of wood in your hand and i never find anything like that on a 7... It's great on a 7 but it slide more... Does anyone feels the same???
- last thing : On 77 you have "paf pro" dimarzio : I like them... Evolution are very good but too aggresive for my taste!

That's only my opinion, I don't know if ibanez does it on purpose or not...
So it depends on : what is your "cup of tea!!!"

See ya

JS
PS : Sorry if you don't undersatn everything, still improving my english!!!!

the 77 series are great beautiful guitars but so are the 7 series. The 7 series also are a better playing guitar (only in my opinion)

My vote says the 7 series are better (most anyway)

WAY TO EASY!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I have and have had 7's, 77's, and 777's, honestly, there is no real difference, Of course the AANJ on the newer Jems, but the JEM7PBK had standard neck joint, JEM7RB standard joint. The 77's were standard joint but rear routed. 777's, are identical to the 77's except front route. Really, there is no better or worse, just different. I love all my Jems, and I miss the ones I had to sell

Play em and pick, that's what you have to do
