777VDY or 77BFP or Whatever - Current pricing question

Before I get married, I may go for a last splash. *Opal thinks I should go for it. * Obviously, every Jem or Universe gets my saliva glands going, but, I'm especially interested in what a few certain ones are generally going for. *777dy, *7bfp, 777lng, UV77mc.

I have an idea about the UV but I was curious if there has been an upward or downward trend. *I have an LNG
that I bought in great shape for a player and the signature's intact. *It's a very low serial# and I got it for a price way under $1000. *I'd like to find one which is in mint condition but it's number or signature condition is unimportant. *I just LOVE the green and I DO play mine, I just really baby it. * I'm most interested in a 777dy for a great price. *Being that I got the lng cheap (that was just sheer luck) *and my sk for $750, I figured $600 to $700 would be reasonable for a mint condition one. *
I feel this way because the 77dy had a long production run. *Its color scheme is a bit dated (although I love it) so it should be priced lower than a more subtle guitar like a 777vbk which I have seen for about $800. *

How do my chances look for the Jem 777dy mint?
I'm interested on the current status on the others, too.
Thanks for your time!

I haven't seen a truly mint DY listed for a while (I am not count "mint with a small dent" ads). I haven't seen a near mint DY go for less than $700 for well over a year, at least not on the more visible markets like ebay and HC.

Of course, you may get lucky!

A local shop around here has a beat 777DY with the frets ground down to nubs for the princely sum of $1395CDN ($900 US)!!! *I think that eBay's has overvalued these guitars - but even if it's not eBay's fault I'll blame them anyway 'cause they're so irritating...

Recently traded a dead mint DY for a bunch of Mesa stuff. *I paid $1300 (not from Rich). *It was new old stock. *I miss that damn thing.

Good point Rich...I should clarify. *When it was dead mint I payed $1300 for it. *Subsequently it was dinked at Rich's...I rushed putting it back into its case because I was so excited to see Rich's collection and nicked her against the case latch. *Thus, it had a pinhead size indentation on the back side. *Of course, I still could have sold her for $1400. *The new owner informed me that even Steve Vai was impressed when he saw her in person and commented that it reminded him of one he had in his vault.

Thanks for keeping me honest Rich, but I'm still not touching your Donnie:biggrin:
