Question

7v similar to FP?

I really want a FP but there are none near me and the only way to get one would be off the internet. I have never played one, but I am going to try out a 7v after christmas. Just wondering if they are similar(necks), so if i like the 7v i can start searching for a Fp. Thanks guys!

Neck profile should be about the same, but there is the little matter of the AANJ. VWHs have it, FPs don't. There is a lot of difference between the VWH and the FP.

yeah. I know that the VWH has Evos where as the FPs have PAF Pros, and the VWHs have an AANJ. Is there any other big differences?

Body wood? FPs have a one-piece neck, whereas the current has a 5-piece. And of course, the bridge. Original FPs come with the Original Edge/Lo Pro, whereas the current VWH comes with an Edge Pro.

Both great, I own one of each but on playability I would have to go with the 7V because of the AANJ.

Wow comparings a FP to a 7WH, there are too many differences... woods, neck, neck joins, trem, pickups, old vrs new and looks.. I would go for what you want .. in looks ... & tone, they both have a distintive sound to them, and playability....

good luck in the search

I'd get a J-Custom.

Upper fret access is better on an AANJ than the old style neck joint, but the difference isn't that great.
