88 Jem FP is completed (56K-beware)
Some of you may remember but i purchased an '88 Jem FP from a local pawn shop last July. It was in pretty good condition aside form PUPS and holes...and missing stuff...lol. So I ordered
Dimarzio Evo
II/HS-2/Air Norton in pink. I had to go through a HUGE hassle with
Pickguard Paradise
to get one that would "work".
After assembling all the parts i dropped it off a friends for some paint and body work and installation of all the hardware. It's got all 2008 modern electronics including the new style selector switch and Steve's "orange drop". So, here it is finally completed. I know the PUP mounting screws are the wrong color, but that doesn't bother me. The neck has been re-worked, leveled and micro-polished. i think it looks pretty good considering the low investment in it and most of all; It's finally done!
( the wife has a little touch-up painting to do around the pick-ups where the previous owner installed pick-up rings)

When I first saw it I was repulsed by the pups, and was angered at your thoughtlessness to the JEM...
Then, I of course read the post, and got the whole story and saw the new pictures, and was relieved...
Awesome job!!! Good for you...

lol. you guys a crazy...
Here's a picture of the hole left over from the selector switch that was in between the volume and tone knobs. it's not 100% perfect, but decently done.

Re: 88 Jem FP is completed (56K-beware)
No, it's paint. I tried contacting EVERY PLACE I could find trying to get them to custom make a sheet of fabric to match the top of the guitar and no one would do it. So, it's just wood filled and painted with a brush. You can see it if you really look but from 3 feet away you would never know.
