Cool picture Eviltwin. I love the Jem90th. Infact it would be my next Jem purchase if I had any goddam money. :-)

Surprizing to see the 759 total. I thought there would have been a few more than that. Cool.

Hope you get your mits on it jommi. Nice guitar.

Probably something about beer, or beef, or you'd just buy one to tease me with it.

In that guitar... there´s something... playin´it is best what man can do with his pants on...

Heheheh....

It truly looks great, perhaps most artistic Jem ever. I just was thinking, how it looked with lifetree, but that is not important. It is very difficult to describe, in fact. It looks like ice, cold, cold ice with some strings keeping something secret inside for thousands of years... Or lonely desert full pieces of sharp glass, ebony tower in middle of nowhere...

It's just a great guitar. I've always felt that anniversary models can be of the same extremely high quality as the J-customs, but ~800 is still a lot of guitars for an expensive, limited edition, anniversary model. I've seen 3 Jem90HAMs, and they were on par with the JC's. Great fretwork, smooth neck, excellent playability, in-your-face-tone, brilliant looks. They even thought about matching the headstock to the body.

Playing a Jem90HAM (Any HAM I should add, though I've never played a JS90, but if the JPM90 and PGM90 are a any indication) is an absolute joy. You have to get used to the absence of inlays, keep the sidemarkers as reference points.

Despite not having a vine, pyramids or some other inlay, they are Jems first. It's not a BSB or a VWH or a 10. But in the end it is still the shape we know, handle and claw, evo's, lo pro. IMHO the metal pickguard helps the tone as well as the looks, but they are tough to keep clean. Wear, sweat and body acids will stain the pickguard. The paint can also wear. This has to do with the "stucco" sublayer. The finish can also wear your clothes, so watch what your wearing.

Perhaps I've forgotten something, you may also want to check out the search, I know there is a thread on Jem90HAM vs J-Custom RG-metal.

Re: 90th HAM Jem - question! -

A couple of points about my experiences with the 90'

- Not only can the finish wear on your clothes, you clothes can also get worn by the guitar's finish. It was a problem when I first received the guitar but not after a few years use.

- The Wizard neck is much narrower than the "Jem" neck profile. I much prefer the fatter neck of my FP.

- The neck of mine is dead straight with the truss rod completely loose. I would have preferred a slight backbow. This has been mentioned on this forum earlier and is apparently typical for this model.

- The pick guard easily develops black spots. The basswood is very light compared to other basswood guitars.

- The finich dings easily but no one will be able to tell unless the finish falls off.

Re: 90th HAM Jem - question! -

OK, thanks to you all.

How the hell they made that icy blue-silver finishing?

You know me soo well Tom. Actually, I was going to say something along the lines of "A new set of specticles", but buying one to tease you with sounds a much better idea
