Question

A question on Steve's DNA that was aucioned on the bay

Hi,

Just wondering, is this guitar from the first batch (the ones that did NOT contain any of SSV's DNA) or from the later batch that they made when SSV realized that he didn't have any of the "real" DNAs himself?

I wonder, because if it's from the 1st batch, somebody paid US $26,600.00 for a DNA that has no DNA (although it is a prototype, which makes up for the DNA lack value-wise).

Just curious.

Regards,

D.

It was, yeah, there was a little controversy over the fact that there was a quote from Vai in the auction saying something about people scraping his DNA off the guitar and cloning him, which would obviously be impossible since there's none of his DNA on the guitar in the first place.

Makes you wonder how much he could get for the guitars he actually played all the time like his beloved Green Meanie or the FTLOG burnt MC...

The people who bid on it (the DNA) also realized it was to raise funds to help a friend. So who knows..... maybe not quite that much?

Evo has gotta be worth at least a million square. Have you guys looked at the guitar world that had the prices of all the famous guitars? The frankenstrat, etc.

I think Steve would rather sell all his other guitars and cut off all his fingers before selling Evo....That guitar will end up in the R&R hall of fame one day...

hej- about that magazine article about famous guitar prices. I would love to see it. Would it be violation to see scans of mag here? Then maybe only prices. That's just out of curiosity
