Alder jem body from Sims???

I searched for this and didn't find it, sorry if it is covered somewhere.


How many have gotten custom Jem bodies from Sims to build Jem projects with rather than routing/ refinishing old RG or jem bodies?


If you did get one, did it fit like an Ibanez part or did it need work to go together?

i think with sims you have to provide your own jem/rg body. most guys have gotten christopher woods to build/route the body and then have it shipped to sims for painting/finishing.

No that is incorrect rastachild. Sims does build JEM and UV bodies - they are direct fits for their respective ibanez counterparts. I know a member on here who bought a mahogany UV7 body from them and all his RG7620 parts were directly swapped on.

You are mistaken, those bodies came from Chris Woods. I know Patrick is looking to get into making his own bodies, but that is later this year.

Patrick does do JEM/UV bodies ready and routed, he has them advertised on his site.

Thank you. You can find bodies from Patrick Sims from his site. You need to go to the "Custom Refinishing Website" when you first go to his website. Then go to "Guitars & Parts for Sale".

Correct, and they came from Chris Woods. Patrick has ordered a CNC and will start cutting his own bodies soon, but what he has now came from Chris.

I have several projects from both Chris and Patrick, and both do great work.
