Americans! Help needed for items

Hello Americans! I am putting together a Jem style guitar and need your help!

My parents will be visiting America for a few weeks and I wanted to know what things I could ask them to bring back for me (cheaper/readily available items)! I have no idea of the best shops I can direct them to. They will be staying in San Francisco.

What I want to build: An RG550 guitar (or similar style, but with pickguard) with a jem body. I want to dye the body in this fashion:
project-110135.html" target="_blank">http://www.jemsite.com/forums/f15/je...a>-110135.html

I am grateful for your reply and patience with my noobness!

Kind regards,
Vin

I think you have to be a little bit more specific , kind of like "I wanna buy particular model of pups , clear pick guard and etc

You can get everything over here . The only thing that is hard to get is coloured pickups and you cant buy em direct from the USA for some reason.
Are you the guy that e mailed me the other day ?

Get your body from Zak at Area 51 , he makes spot on stuff.

Yes. It's one thing to have them pick something up for you, it's quite another thing to direct them to the "best shops" in San Francisco and have them ask for custom JEM parts.

You do the homework/internet shopping, and then have the items you want delivered to them in care of their hotel.

Peace

Mike

This... because this is how we mainly do it... only we have it delivered to our door but you can have it sent to them "In Care Of" or C/O the hotel your folks are staying at.

I actually didn't catch that you were trying to say C/O in your post but thought you had an extra word or two typo and meant to have it delivered to the hotel. LOL... I bet you did think that was weird.

Wow Vin, your folks are going to have some serious Jet Lag.

Pardon my ignorance, I don't know what's hard to get in the UK. Perhaps you should ask your parents to buy a bunch of Levi's or iPads. Turn them for a profit, and then use the cash to fund your Ibanez orders?

Re: Americans! Help needed for items

all i would say is that irrespective of availability, parts are cheaper in the US than in the UK. essentially, you can take the UK £price and simply change the sign to $ and leave the figure the same!

anything you need from the UK can be sourced through Max Cottam (Cottam Guitars), and dimarzio are available through him and Jaden Rose!
