Well considering the universe as a whole would be a rebuild you'd expect everything to be cheaper.

Re: And here she is!
Paging Dr. Rich..... will it have an ebony board or rosewood? the pic looks like ebony?
Although it lacks originality, it is still cool, I give
Ibanez
a thumbs up. I haven't bought a "new" guitar in a couple years, not for lack of money, but for lack of want, there just hasn't been anything I had to have, and this is going to get me off the bench, not that my opinion matters but, I look at myself as being part of the whole and a typical consumer when it comes to Ibanez stuff.
I also give Ibanez a thumbs up for starting to listen, although sales have probably forced them into it, it is great to see, and, If enough people respond (i.e. purchasing) they will most likely continue to try newer ideas?

Re: And here she is!
This is the best thing Ibanez has done in years. Ive wanted a 7 string
Jem
since I was a little kid. I remember seeing videos of Vai and then going to check out the uni's and being dissapointed. But now no child will ever have to know that feeling again thanks to this.
Handles and lions for all!

Re: And here she is!
Every 13' that has come in so far has been extremely nice rosewood. I don't expect it but wouldn't it be nice if it was the new standard!

Re: And here she is!
Kind of a side note but has Ibanez ever considered using something along the lines of Richlite?
I might have asked this question before... :S

Re: And here she is!
Is this getting a new neck design, or is it the same old UV neck with a vine on it instead of pyramids??

I really hope it has the older RG/UV neck profile rather than the Prestige profile with the bulky shoulders. I love Prestige 6 string necks like nothing else, but I have to be in the right mood for the the 7's.

Yeah, idk about you guys, but a uv with a stock monkey grip and lions claw? Mmmmm. That's my favorite part. Maybe, it's a permanent addition to the uv line. To me those mods are what make these guitars so unique in the first place!!!

Re: And here she is!
I wonder, since this is a Jem 7-string, does that mean the PAWUVMC really was/is a Jem? OK, the PAWMC did not have the lion's claw. Then again, neither did the JemFX. This is a Universe! In no logical way can this be a Jem! Grrr... That will be my reason for not buying it!
