Thumbs up

Another happy 77BRMR owner

Hi!

I got my 77BRMR yesterday, I bought it at InstrumentPro.com. I really love the feel of this guitar, and it is a beauty. I read some reviews from ppl who found the Breed pickups ****. I've played the guitar now for over 10 hours, and I must say that the Breed pickups aren't as bad as I was to expect from the comments I saw. In any case I have decided to swap the bridge pickup for an Evolution, because I simply want/need some more power. When I just got it, I found the pickups **** too, to be honest, but when I got up this morning and plugged my baby in again, it wasn't all that bad. I still find, tho, that the Breeds lack tone, especially the bridge pickup. I think I'm gonna stick with the middle and neck Breeds for now, I'm not unhappy about how they sound.

It comes in a J-Craft Team Prestige hardshell case with a red coating on the inside. The finish is flawless, although I have to admit that I was flabbergasted to find my Jem with the trem snapped out of the bridge when I opened the case for the first time! There was no damage though, and I usually set-up my trems and the string action and such to my own likings anyway, so within an hour I had set it up to my likings.

I only had to wait a couple of weeks for it, since I was lucky enough to have mine already in QC when I ordered it from InstrumentPro.com. My serial # is F0604429.

The last 4 frets are not scalloped, I might have this done in the future. I'm also thinking of having a custom disappearing pyramid laid into the fretboard in the future. We'll see.

For now I'm very happy with it and hope it will be of good service to me in the next years.

You can have look at mine at http://demogorgos.is-a-geek.net/music/JEM.jpg

So, what's the general stance on the Breed vs Evolution pickups?? Like I said, the Breeds do not sound as bad as they said at all!

Take care!

I'm glad you like it. I quite enjoy mine and finally got a chance to play at a club with a spotlight this weekend, I spent most of the night blinding my bass player and drummer. Quite enjoyable...

I don't have experience with the breed pickups. I just had to say that's a sweet guitar.

Wow, that finish looks really great! Glad to hear there's good tonal versatility to the breed pups (I kind of guessed the neck would be good). If you want more power for a bridge pickup, maybe try the Evo2. It's got the tonal qualities of Evo, but its output is lowered. I have one in my rg and i love it

Congrats ! I've had mine for over a year now and have loved it since day 1. I personally have always preferred the BREEDS to EVOs or any other. Have fun!
