Anyone watch 'It Takes a Thief' tonight?

Tonight there was an episode of "It Takes a Thief' on the Discovery Channel on a guy that gets all his guitars stolen. One of them was a Jem777DY. I was surprised to see it, as it was in great condition and they even mentioned a Vai signature on the trem backplate. Anyway, I just thought I would mention it.

Re: Anyone watch 'It Takes a Thief' tonight?

I saw a show on HGTV a couple of years ago where a guy turned an old grange hall into his home. On his couch was a swirled Ibanez of sorts. I'm embarassed to admit that I don't know what it was as I wasn't really paying much attention to the show. I happened to turn by the TV while there was a very quick shot of this and it wasn't a closeup. I recognized a swirl and the Ibanez shape but didn't even see if there was a monkey grip or not.

Gotta go. The hockey game is coming back on. Go Islanders!

I like that show but I'll be damned if I'm gonna let some clown purposely destroy my home and steal my Jem! Hell no!

I agree, but it can be pretty interesting at times. This episode was actually one of my favorites.

Yeah...that does seem like a strange premise for a show.

Do the people actually get their stuff back after the show? Or do they have to go hunt down the theives and take out some vigilante justice of their own.

I'd be uncontrollably mad if someone swiped my guitar collection!!!

Everybody gets their stuff back of course. But the "thief" ain't exactly gentle in his ways. I assume the producers take care of the "victims" pretty well or nobody would do the show. The victims get a free "security makeover" as part of the deal as well. Then the thief comes back and tries to break in again.

He doesn't really try, because you easily tell that if wanted to get in again, he could.

I wonder if the guy that owned the Jem is/was part of Jemsite. He owned a lot of other shred guitars, but I don't remember what they were. I was to focused on that mighty fine looking DY.

Re: Anyone watch 'It Takes a Thief' tonight?

you see Jems pop up in the strangest places sometimes.

i like the show but get a little wigged-out when they wreck they house.

it's a good show in that it makes people think about security a little more seeing things from a thieves point of view. i'm all for anything that makes people use their brains a little more.
