ATTENTION GMC PMC DNA JPM OWNERS!!! - Pickup Mounting Questi

I need somebody who owns a GMC, PMC, DNA, or JPM to help me out. *Could you please email or post pictures of how the direct mount pickups are installed from the factory. *I'm working on a project and need to know how it's originally done by the factory.

I've designed a thin fixture to add to the cavity to a ring or pickguard mounted pickup that would solve the problem but I thought their solution might be easier to do (when compared to making 3 of these for my project.

This is the idea I have:

4 holes are drilled in the shim and 2 humbucker sized nuts are affixed to the ends of the shim. *Make measurements and mark where the shim is to be installed. *Drill 2 small pilot holes into the body cavity where marked. *Secure the fixture with 2 pickguard size screws. *Mount the pickup to the fixture without the springs.

This will work, but something tells me their solution is a lot easier.

Thanks,

Jonathan Shroyer

ATTENTION GMC PMC DNA JPM OWNERS!!!

they simply screw the pickup to the body with small springs or foam underneath the pickup to allow minor adjustment.

I created my own system for my GC Custom. I found the easiest method is to do something like ibanez, with longer screws to allow more adjustment. If the cavity is too thin (very likely), you need to use a wood dowel or something to fill the area and screw into that.

Use screws just smaller than the pickup mount or file just under the head to allow adjustability... glen

Hey Glen,

I'm assuming the foam is placed between the body and the center of the pickup?
