Evo's are great aswell but much more agressive and slightly thinner sounding to me.
You think Evos are thinner sounding? I saw it just the other way around. The PAF Pros have a nice snappy tone to them, for being a humbucker, while the Evo is smoother and higher output. To each his own I suppose

i used her on stage the other night with an RG550 for a back up that i just picked up (someone was going for a VBK w/ maple neck look on this 550) and i never put the VBK down! i am really falling for her! i don't know what kind of pups are in her - they aren't original. they look grass green w/ really bad bobbin toppers on them. they sound great! i looked at the bottom of them and they had no identifying marks
with a little TLC she will be a keeper! i'll keep an updated thread of the "life and times of my VBK" as things progress.
