Ball-bearing the future of floating trems?

They seem to work easier smoother and hold tune better, what do you guys think? Will ball-bearing trems take over the world?

If they could make them feel as good as an Edge or Lo-Pro, maybe.

actually with todays technology, im waiting for a mechanisim that mimics the feel of springs but is actually some ingenious collection of high tech mechanisms...and an autotuner that guarantees a perfect return

I like the technology, but I really wouldn't say that it's the thing of the future when it's hardly the thing of the present. Ball bearing trems have been around for awhile, but currently, only Ibanez S-series guitars and ESP's USA Jeff Hanneman sig (which has a Kahler) offer them. Some company has to take a chance on it to bring it to the forefront. Let's see a ZR on an RG and we'll be getting somewhere.

Good point, nuno. I heard that it can snap quite easily in a ZR.

It's probably a pretty good idea, until one breaks, and threads start popping up all over about how unreliable they are and how they dont sound as good a springs.
