Bit the bullet...
Okay, I've been carefully researching and shopping around for the right JEM's for a while now. At one point I couldn't decide which one I wanted: Either the 7VWH or the 77BRMR ("Bad Horsie"). Well, I solved that by just buying both
I just picked up the 7VWH today and I am verrrry happy with it. I came to realize that each one has its own feel and you really need to make sure its the right one for you. I played one at Guitar Center that felt and sounded like complete garbage. Then I found this one and it feels and plays and sounds like a dream.
I bought the 77BRMR from some high school kid on *Bay who is jerking me around about the shipping. He lied to me and said it was mint then after I bought it told me there was a chip to the wood on the bottom of it. I figured, he's a kid, I'll cut him some slack. Then I pay him extra to ship it overnight and he ships it 3 day and pockets the rest of the money [Edit: I gave him specific instructions on how to ship it, but he said "I'm the shipper so I decide who I ship through" AFTER we agreed on shipping and charges. Still, I can't outright accuse him of doing it on purpose with the intent of pocketing the money. I think he was just lazy and careless]. On top of that he refuses to send me any tracking information [Edit: He finally sent it to me after I threatened the stop payment].
At this point I don't even know if he even shipped it or not. I paid him with PayPal that is funded by Amex and if he doesn't reply tonight I'm going to have Amex dispute the charge and he'll be in for a BIG surprise lol. Idiot. If the mod's allow it I can post who he is so he doesn't do the same to anyone else.
ALWAYS FUND YOUR PAYPAL WITH AMEX IF YOU CAN. Its the only way you can be sure you'll recoup your money if someone rips you off.
Anyways, I'm in love with this 7VWH and I'm praying that I get that 77BRMR in one piece soon. I'll be posting pics very, very soon.

I've been using *Bay for a long time and have come across several thieves and Amex was the only protection I had. I haven't encountered a single time that I contested payment that Amex didn't side with me and I was protected.

Amex policy, it ALWAYS sides with the cardholder. That's why I don't accept it, it's WIDE OPEN to credit fraud by Amex cardholders.

As in, the cardholder can do no wrong ?? If they side with the card holder up-front, that's one thing. If they take the card holder's word as 100% factual, without condition, and presume the seller is 100% wrong, that's bad, I'll admit. I don't think that's any different than any credit card either though....
Most people are thankful that their credit card companies will back them up when necessary though.

Oh, I did that. I told him I was Mel Gibson and then he promptly sent tracking information :P~ J/K
P.S. Looks like I might end up with two 7VWH's, a '04 with Rosewood and a '99 with Ebony, so if anyone wants one of them you can PM me. I don't need two of them. (I hope I didn't break any rules!)

Re: Bit the bullet...
Hope you like it and it is in good condition. sorry to hear about the stress. I was ripped on the bay a few years ago for over a grand, and after the card compnay investigated to reverse charges they did not side with me
No money and no product, but I learned some lessons.
On a happy note: I like your style--can not decide which to buy, so you got both
thats sweet!
