Blaze II single coil


After a discussion with fraspe I realized that the single coil on my 1990 UV7BK doesn't quite look like those pictured on this page. Mine have all capped poles.
Is this unusual?

Another difference is of course that mine is dirty

I now think it's the camera that's getting "mirrored" in the polepieces. That's why it's so dark on four of them.

Am I wrong?

I don't think so. None of my pole pieces are adjustable while the normal situation is that 4 or 7 pole pieces can be adjusted.

I can also inform that in order to avoid any nasty mirroring I pulled on a pair of pants before taking the picture

I think the first run of blazeII single coils (1990 I think?) had non adjustable pole pieces like yours in the picture, I know simon(cerealk)'s UV has the same. Mine are both later models and have the adjustable black pole pieces. DOn't worry, you've just got more of a rarity.
