Blue Floral

O.K., I am all for making a profit but I have to mention some thing totally crazy. I was searching the net for a blue floral and came across one. I made a call to the establishment. I won't mention names but it is located in Las Vegas(figure it out). The guitar is in new conditon. The price, sit down if you are not already........................................... .......$6,500. I was in shock and literally laughed because I thought it was a joke. Although in all fairness they did have a 77fp with a gig bag for $3,000!

Give me a break!

Re: Blue Floral

Wow...the BFP is going for more than his mint PMC's....that doesnt make sense being the PMC's are much more rare

Then again...mr (fill in the blank, lol) doesnt seem to know much about his merchandise

Im officially now done with Jems, this crap is ridiculous. Im goin with the JS for now on. As of 12-17-2005, I am officially an exjemster. Im going to sell my jems on the evil auction site and buy myself a JS1000 and some new gear after the first of the year.

Prices are out of control both used and new. I have always loved the JS myself, but grew up with the whole Vai Jem thing when I first started to learn to play. Its the unique styles of the Jem that was appealing. For the most part, Jems are great guitars, but Im not going to spend anymore money on them. I really was thinkin of collecting as many Jems as I could afford, but when I see prices like $6000, thats it for me.Three years ago, you could buy at least five maybe even six Jems for $6000. All it takes is one turd with the money to buy one at $6000 and then we have a new market price. I know you can still find good deals out there, but Im switching to the JS, no more Jem hysteria, nothin flashy, just an all around great guitar.

Re: Blue Floral

More for the rest us

...and if somebody bought the $6000 BFP, it wouldn't still be in his shop for sale, would it?

It is a bummer, and sometimes I feel like you,,,but then I pick up my Jem or see her resting in her case, and I'm hooked again!

On a side note, will you be changing your screen name?

Re: Blue Floral

The world of online & **ay have distorted the Jem world for sure, much of the time many of us get lost in the Market Value/collectable/oh no, don't ding the guitar.

Now look, things are so much away from just playing the guitar to make music, to explore creativity, to reach new places of expression. Ive been guilty of loosing sight of that through all the collectable hype.

GREED has taken over the front seat, I bet ER puts $6000 on a BFP in spite of this site. Im greatful my circle of good friends and I experienced what the Jem/UV guitars was truly all about back in the late 80's & early 90's.
