Thumbs up

Breeds in the 77BRMR RULE

Hi,

Just wanted to rant a little about the negative feedback the DiMarzio Breeds get here and there.

I'm absolutley HOOKED on my 77BRMR and it's Breeds. I had ordered an Evo to replace the bridge Breed, but I'm definitely leaving the axe "as is". It sounds awesome, shreds like hell and has all the tone one could ask for.

Regards,

D.

PS: I Can't wait for my '97 UV7BK to arrive....

I totally agree with you. I love the Breeds. I had them in a DBK and a DNA. They suit my style very well. I've only owned one guitar with EVOs, a VSBL and didn't like them nearly as much.

Re: Breeds in the 77BRMR RULE

Actualy its the all the way around. There is more negative feedback on the evos than the breeds.

I have a Jem7dbk and they rock. Simply the best versatile pickup i owned.

I have the evos installed on my 1570 prestige and they sound to thin for my taste.

I wont say that the 550 is a lower end model, its a good and popular axe.

The breed will do just fine in there. the 550 got a basswood body if memory serves and they will give u a warm midrange bassy tone with high output.

You can hear the breeds in my 7dbk on my demo album Rise www.soundclick.com/rabihsaad

lol well, i was just thinking non-prestige models. new 2550 are pretty nice though.

anyways, i was wondering how breeds compare to tonezone/airnorton. what do you guys pair up with your breeds? paf pro maybe evo?

Re: Breeds in the 77BRMR RULE

I'd compare the neck Breed to more like an Air Norton than a PAF Pro, but I'm not really sure about the bridge, the only bridge I have experience with from DiMarzio besides the Breed is the Tone Zone, and it sounds just about as fat as a Tone Zone with less 'zingy' midrange if you know what I mean.

Re: Breeds in the 77BRMR RULE

evo's absolutly blow nuts.. but so do most dimarzio pickups imo the materials and winding techniques they use are very poor compared to other manufactures out there Seymour Duncan use the best materials but still machine wind.

it's all about the scatterwind oooh im so so hooked on BKP's.

How are they any different than Duncans in terms of material quality per say? ...take a hint: they're not.

the breed neck may sound more like an air norton, but they sound like a hotter wound paf pro to me with the typical tonal differences associated with hotter wound pickups in comparison.

Re: Breeds in the 77BRMR RULE

My favorite, I have a VSBL, FP, & just got a BRMR! It was always & still is a toss up between the PAF PROS & EVOS depending on my mood, but the Breeds are the best! They have a fatter full sound, closer to a Les Paul/PRS sound, I think anyway.
