BRMR on the way (high-res pics coming as well)

I've decided to spill the beans! I've got a BRMR on the way and I predict that it will be here sometime late next week. I bought it from Rich (of course), and when I gave him a call, he was kind of telling me to not post pictures since it's been done many times before; maybe I shouldn't because he might not ship it to me if I do. Then again, maybe I shouldn't post this now, wait until it arrives and then post about it 1000 times to rile him up

Just kidding!

I really want to post some pictures though, but I have a question first: have any of you seen really detailed, high-res pictures of a BRMR before? I've tried looking and I haven't found many good pics, so I thought I'd post some when I receive it for everyone to see; I want to post some because I think good pics of these beauties are in scarcity.

I think it will be very hard to photograph it as a whole -- as well as its details -- but I'll do my best and also post what I think about its tone/action.

Re: BRMR on the way (high-res pics coming as well)

I also got my BRMR this weekend, but it needed some work so I sent her over to Ron Pace here in Houston, TX to set her up. Ron's probably the #1 guitar tech in Houston, TX for those of you in TX.

One thing I noticed is that this is a guitar that is going to pick up swirls and pick scratches VERY easily. Keep a lint free cloth in the case with you and maybe treat it with some sort of protectant. The top seems to be some kind of plastic with the mirror finish on the bottom of it. Can anyone confirm this?

As far as photographing it, if you have some black cloth, or construction paper/board then that's the best thing to snap it in. Also, you have to do it from the right angle so you don't show up in the reflection looking like a kid taking a pic of himself for MySpace lol.

One thing I loved is the tone. It has a lot of mid to it. I got a 7VWH at the same time as this and I love that they both have different tones.

I hope you have hours and hours of fun on her. Congrats!

Congrats on the BRMR! It's hard to hold back the news when you're getting a new geetar.

There are plenty of pics posted already. If you do a search you should find them.
However, I think if you do not post pics when you get yours, you'll have some angry Jemsiters. I say post the pics when you get it.

Thanks man! I was in Houston back in 2003 to see some bands play, just as a side note.

You got your BRMR now? I read your thread and I didn't see a reply that you received it yet. Does it have problems, or did you just need it set up as far as action and everything?

I can't wait to see what this baby is going to be like -- especially since Rich is setting it up. I'm actually going to be really scared to mess with it since I'm not such a wizard with setting up guitars, so I hope it won't need any adjusting anytime soon.

I actually don't mind that this will get scratches on it because I'm going to play the crap out of it! Of course it's nice to have it in pristine condition, but I'll try my best to not do any damage to it. I'm thinking of keeping it in its case at all times when it isn't being played instead of letting it sit on a stand or hang by the neck/nut off of my wall hangers.

I'm hoping that in a few years time the BRMR goes up in value since they don't make them anymore; this isn't to score big or anything, but in a few years time, I'm sure I'll want/need something else and the BRMR would give me at least what I paid for it -- I hope.

Paul

Thanks to you too!

This is going to be my first 'new' guitar since I got my first guitar almost 10 years ago (Ibanez GRX70). I also have some Musician's Friend version Jackson Kelly and a Jem5, but none of those are nearly as good as the BRMR will be of course.

I was thinking of taking good pics of the action (strings/fretboard), the way the trem is set up, all of that good stuff. I've seen some pics people posted here, but they aren't enough for me! I like looking at the pics of it so much that I think I'm going to get it imprinted on both of my eyeballs using eye laser tatooing technology so it will always be in my sight; it will be a faded color, so when I focus and look at my actual BRMR, it will match up perfectly

Nevermind. Post a picture of those tatoos instead of the BRMR for us.

I just got back from the eye tattoo place:

Yes, that really is my eye! And soon, a real BRMR will be reflecting (pun intended) off of it.

I can't wait to try this baby out... I know the tone is going to rule, so I'm mostly concerned about it having the ultimate shredding action!

Assbutt!

You know, after doing a lot of thinking (and a lot of looking at pics), I've kind of changed my mind that having a vine on the BRMR would be excellent. I saw yours and the HVRMR that was posted here and I think that it would compliment the body nicely. As always, I'm a starving artist so I probably shouldn't spend much more $$$ on this guitar, so I'll leave it like it is.
