Case for a 2001 Jem 7vwh...help
Hi!
In 2003 I bought a jem 7vwh, new at a retail store here in Canada. The guitar is a 2001 model.
I got an skb case with it, which is somewhat different than the nice plushy jem cases that others around here have.
2 questions...
1) SHOULD an Ibanez case have come with the guitar? The guy at the store said Jem's only recently started coming with cases, and in 2003, Ibanez had not started doing that yet.
2) If it should have come with a case, which model should have come with my guitar? i.e uv1000 or something else?
If I didn't get what I should have, I want the proper case. I hate the one I'm using. But, I can deal with it so long as I wasn't cheated.
Someone give me a hand

Shure it should came with the UV1000C case!
If you won't be able to make th eguy give you the proper case a nice case is the m100c...but if you won't have th case for free I would be very angry!

Re: Case for a 2001 Jem 7vwh...help
2005 was the first year of the included case from the manufacturer for Prestige models. But if you bought a 2001 guitar in 2005 you would not get a free case unless the dealer wanted to give you one [and you were really paying for it anyway whether you knew it or not]. A 2004 guitar did not come from Ibanez in a case, a 2005 did. And bottom line is the price increases in 2005 more than covered the cost of the cases, so while it was included, it was never free.

Re: Case for a 2001 Jem 7vwh...help
okay, so it sounds like they didn't actually have to give me one. Poo.
Well, so much for my grand idea of claiming what is rightfully mine. LOL.
So, what are my Ibanez options for cases?
There's the Uv1000, the M100c, and the Prestige case....all are properly fitted for my Jem, correct?
Any thoughts on these models? The prestige looks pretty nice

I've had all three cases and I liked the M100C the best. Yes. All 3 of those will fit your Jem/RG.

I like the latches on the M100C. I can't stand the latches on the newer Chinese Prestige cases.

The case that comes with the new team J Craft guitars is crazy nice. I'd rather have one of those than the UV1000 case I think. Check
this
pic for an tight inside shot of one I had recently. Deep and tight, just how I like it

Wait, let me get this straight..... you bought this in 2003 and you're just now questioning the case situation? Like what, you think the store/dealer would or should just give you a new case even if they came with a different case back then? Come on....
Anyway, the M-100C will work just fine, plus getting a Prestige case will cost more and be harder to get your hands on. Besides, It's just a case..... as long as it's protecting your guitar that's what counts. If you're concerned with getting a better case..... get one that is ATA flight approved if you actually "travel" your guitar. Otherwise it's just a waste of money just to have the "coolest" or "newest" type case.

That's exactly what I'm saying.
The store didn't think it was weird.
When i inquired about getting the proper case, they said: "If it should have come with x case, then we'll take back the skb and give you the appropriate one, after all this is a really expensive axe, sorry if we've botched up".
They said that their system wasn't indicating a case should have come w/ it. So they said I could call ibanez, and if a mistake was made, they'd fix it.
They're just trying to make it right for me.
seems like nothing was out of order anyway.
