CD cover with JEM pic. (well, almost...)

I walked by a stand with $3 CDs today when I spotted the one below.

I bought the CD for the cover. After playing the CD in the car on my way home I can safely say it will never be played again.
Old Irish standards and Enya covers, uuuhh.

It is obviously not a real JEM on the cover. The only resemblance is the monkey grip.
It might just be a fantasy product by the artist, but it looks more like it is a scanned in photo. Enjoy

Is that Darling Pretty a cover from Mark Knopfler's Golden Heart album?

Yes it is. I haven't heard the original but this one is crap (well, according to my taste)

I believe that the guitar pictured here is a George Washburn EC-36, with the Stephens Extended cutaway, single active Washburn humbucker, 36 fret neck and crackle finish. How they get the monkey grip on, is a bit of a mystery to me.

I got to see one in the flesh for the first time this week. I was really looking forward to sweeping an arpeggio from the 1st fret to the 36th. Not possible. You need toddlers fingers if you want to experience the extremes of this guitar even though the fret wire get progressively narrower after the 24th fret.

Yeah, I think your right about that guitar...I used to sell those back in the
day...I don't think even scalloping the last octave would help you any.
More of just a gimmic then anything else me thinks.

I think they were made only in 1987 & 1988 but were available as NOS up until 1992 because nobody wanted them. People think that they are rare and want $1500 for theirs.

For that sort of money, I'd rather buy an Ibanez because at least it does what it implies.

Yes it is. I've played one of those and our own Vwall owns or owned the one I played. The guitar plays surprisingly well.

Yep, it's a Washburn EC-36. They play extremely well! My old guitarist used to own one w/ the red & blue crackle paintjob in DEAD MINT condition, but he's traded for a beat up Les Paul studio. WTF??? Oh, how I miss that guitar.
