Re: chibanez?
hard to tell, the only thing that gives it away from those pics is the point of the headstock. the rest looks almost right on. ask for more pics to confirm it's a fake.

Re: chibanez?
The grip looks wonky, so does the bridge. The headstock is misshaped.
So does the Logo, look at the tick. No volume or tone knobs, or pickup selector.
It's garbage
Pass.

I'm a newb, but I've seen it mentioned here at least a couple times---the trem bars on Jems, to my knowledge, STILL don't come in gold!

They don't screw in either.

Re: chibanez?
This is a fake.
- Monkey Grip is wrong
- Trem is not EP or LP but something weird
- Truss Rod Cover is wrong
- Ibanez Logo is wrong
Do not buy.
Also always check for Serial Numbers and get more high resolution pics.

Re: chibanez?
checking serial numbers wont help, im pretty sure theyve started stamping the back of the headstocks with similar serial numbers to actual jems ie F0xxxxxxx.
best thing to do in this sort of situation is look at the promotional pictures of a jem like from ibanez's website, its not hard to tell if its a fake or not, youve just got to look closely and compare the pictures

Actual Serial does help, as you can post the serial or write an email to hoshino and they usually answer back if it is an actual existing serial and what guitar that serial was stamped on. (The newer the model the more accurate the answer.)
The best thing is though having high res pics and post on jemsite

Re: chibanez?
The chibanezers have come a long way from just using Jem Jr. necks. I wonder if Ibanez has made any kind of dent in the fakers operations.

Re: chibanez?
What about the obvious warning sign? 600.00 US for a Jem? In perfect condition? I got a bridge for sale if any one is interested. Seriously through, its a fake, and most likely garbage. My .02 Have a good one, Tobe

Nope, sorry, they don't track serial numbers to models, not unless they've started something new.

Re: chibanez?
Is it kosher to ask for a serial number before you buy? I've heard people asking and being refused by people selling legitamate guitars. I've also seen people black out the serial numbers in pictures. I don't know what is considered acceptable.
