choice of two jem7vwhs

Hi, i have the pick of 2 jems 7vwhs, both for 1100 dollars. One is a 93 model with many dings some on the front but the neck is in exellent condition it comes with the uvcase. The other is newer and cleaner with a couple marks on the headstock and a couple marks on the back of it, no case think. Both are from the same guy and he says the 93 model is sort of better than others years and he thinks i should take that one. I think this could be because he wants to get rid of it more but i have no idea really. I am assuming there is little difference between a 93 model and other newer ones. I would love it if someone who knows a lot about jems could shed some light on it. Also if anyone had suggestions on what i might ask about them. This is my second purchase of a guitar so im quite inexperianced with the process.

That 93' is a rats nest, originally sold for $600 on ebay and this guy has listed it, ummm, 20 times now trying to get somebody to pay way more than it's worth.
