1 a ten year anniversary dna no blood (sorry steve) issue at least 1000
2 Start reissue's 777's 77's
3 Start a new swirl line
4 more color options 7v
5 open an ibanez custom shop so we can order what we want and still own a real ibanez
I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE with #5! That would end ALL of our frustrations

A custom shop for the public would be great but I think it's been said it's never happening, unless you become a rock star and they let you into the L.A. custom shop.

Wouldn't DNA reissues without the blood, both dilute the market and defeat the point?

Re: Complain to Steve about the JEM/UV LINEUP here (no long winded rants elsewhere)

Well my opinion may mean nothing but here goes. I love the Jem guitar. I have owned almost nothing but rg's and Jems for the last 20 years with the exception of a couple LP's, couple PRS, strat, and a Suhr Modern. I bought the Suhr cause quite frankly I was tired of playing someone elses guitar and wanted to be able to order a superstrat to my specs. I wish I could order a custom ibanez but nope can't do that. Steve himself told me they only do that for people that have been endorsed. Like I said, I will always love the Jem and will buy more I'm sure but the Modern fits me more like a glove because it has all I look for in a guitar, not 80% or whatever the mindseye of another holds. I wish ibanez would re-open it's USA Custom Shop. That is my one and only complaint, not with Steve but rather with Ibanez. I'm sure Steve can relate to that. I mean I am no Steve Vai, nor do I wanna be either, I wanna be me with a Vai and many others having had an influence on me. Open the custom shop here in the USA back up guys. People will still buy the Jem and other artist guitars.

Re: Complain to Steve about the JEM/UV LINEUP here (no long winded rants elsewhere)

I agree with a lot of the people here that I've always known Jems throughout my life as being fairly flamboyant guitars and things of beauty. I was crushed to find that when I had the money to buy a Jem, all I had to choose from was a 7VWh and a 7VBK. Black or white?..... that's it?....... anyhoo, I got the 7VWh and though I do really love it, I was hoping for some far out designed Jem when I could finally buy one. Looking at the catalogue, they were ALL black and white for that year. WTF?..... this is Steve Vai we're talking about isn't it?

You may have noticed that Vai has played a white Jem as his main guitar since 1993...

Re: Complain to Steve about the JEM/UV LINEUP here (no long winded rants elsewhere)

yes but to have any year where the only jems you can get are either black or white is rather limiting, considering the colourful history of the Jem. He may use white ones, but we would like some more choice too. I was hoping for a nice FP or maybe a mirrored BRMR or any of the other whacky designs he has........ not saying that I hate my 7VWh though, it is a beautiful guitar and I get many compliments on it at every gig I play, I just was hoping for more choice when it came to outlaying so much money for my dream guitar. White will do, but I really wanted a black with green swirl, green vine (Can't remember the model but it's all kinds of awesome) That is my real dream Jem, the white is a close second.

Re: Complain to Steve about the JEM/UV LINEUP here (no long winded rants elsewhere)

I remember when I first saw the 7VWH & I thought how clean & classic it was. I would agree that it would be good to get more into the JEM was again & I'm glad that there is a reissue of the that 7string multicolored monster, the UV77MC. This was a good step in the right direction. The introducing a NEW Floral is another good direction. I'm happy with the direction for this year's line up.

yes that is good BUT...... the reissue is ridiculously priced and very very limited in it's run. I didn't really like the new floral compared to the 2 beautiful previous versions. Bring back the GMC Jem please.

Whats the story behind the new JEM77. What a trendy and very ugly guitar in my opinion. It dont seem to follow Steve Vai theme from the past.

I am saddened that its starting to look like Steve is looking to make money and not make truely works of art anymore.

Jem with a Fernandes Sustainer in the neck position would be sweet.

Re: Complain to Steve about the JEM/UV LINEUP here (no long winded rants elsewhere)

I wish quality control was up to the price. I value and appreciate a well-made guitar, even if it costs 2K+, but it needs to play, look and age like a 2K+ (often more) instrument. Other than that, I think the JEM is one of the few true innovations over the Stratocaster(tm).
