CUSTOM LEFTY JEM!!! Photos!

Well i finally finished my Lefty Jem project.
I refused to buy a Korean made 555 crap with a crappy Lo-Trs, so i got down to making a custom one.
I bought a body from a very nice luthier from USA, that used to work for Hoshino USA.He now has his own custom shop and does very very nice bodies.
Swirl pickguard from Pickguard Paradise.
Neck is a lefty RG 570 with scalloped 21-24 frets.
Two Evolution humbuckers(which will get changed for black and withe coloured ones) and a Blue Velvet single(i prefer it over HS-2 and HS-3).
And Ibanez Edge tremolo of course!!!(which is a right handed one, re-drilled to a left hand)

Here's a few photos
Tell me what you think, and if you want more photos before it was completed.

hehe, you gotta love that last photo!

Please note that some shots were taken before the trem was converted, and some after it was done, thus the different hole in it.
Rock on !!!

haha, i like the pickguard. but yeah, dude, just a comment... i think there are like too many black and whites around.. eg, the vol and tone knobs and the pickups, its like ones white and the others black. err, why not the same color? i think itll look more 'neat'. other than that, it looks cool.

Looks great! I would second the mismatch sentiment, but other than that, it looks killer!

Re: CUSTOM LEFTY JEM!!! Photos!

looks realy nice - again I think it would look a bit more 'together' with same colour knobs and maybe same colour pickups, but at the same time I like the quirkiness of the different colours. Good job, well done.

i think that would look best with "zebra" style pups, have black and half white on each one, it would give the cool effect but look more together than haveing seperate colour pups. other than that cool job.

yeah if you read at the top, i'm planning on putting in zebra type pickups.then it'll be "fully" finished.
Thanks on the positive feedback anyway

Man that is a sensational guitar you built. Congrats on a job well done. Did you at any point consider adding the little script logo? Not that it matters because it's clearly a custom and everyone including my mom knows you can't get a left handed jem from the factory.

Re: CUSTOM LEFTY JEM!!! Photos!

5 bucks says you got that body off of Jim Donahue off the bay. Very cool guy, I plan on gettin a body off of him after I pay off my 6 string bass

May I ask, how you went about drilling the trem hole? Did you wing it or did you get a tutorial somewhere?

Re: CUSTOM LEFTY JEM!!! Photos!

Spot on Koss. That guy is a legend, and does such nice bodies(bodys?..hehe).
Please do check out his **** shop.
As for the tremolo, i found a tutorial on Projectguitar.com on how to convert a right hand trem to a left hand. It was just cheaper for me this way.
The only thing about the tut is that is actually wrong about the hole you have to tap. the hole should be 9x1.0mm, not 10x1.25mm.
Apart from that its pretty straight forward.
here's the link
http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/rtltcon.htm
Thanks everyone once again.

P.S. I'm still working on a logo for the headstock...Any suggestions?
