Custom Plate VSBL

I just finished customising my VSBL, so now i have a VSBL with PAF pros, and a Jem single (i always wanted an alder body jem with PAFs!!) and this funky, but subtle Custom guard. I wanted to post a pic, but, i dont know how...
and i have no webspace of my own to place it and link it to.
Im sure there is a space on jemsite for photo uploads...but i dunno where!

That's really cool! Definitely better than the standard pickguard.

Yeah holy moly, I really dig that, it makes the guitar look twice as good. I have never played with PAF pro's and had the perception that they were 'a cheaper model'. Was I wrong?

If i were putting new pickups in a VSBL, i would have put blue ones in. But that's just me.

PAF Pros aren't "cheaper"... they're just a bit more traditional-sounding. I quite like the more vintage-sounding humbuckers. Their lower output makes them a bit more mellow and much more versatile.

Sounds good too!!

Glad everyone approves!

The blue colour pickups didnt really go with the sparkle blue finish. its quite a 'greeny' blue in a wierd way, and the pickups were very 'indigo' and it didnt look right, so i went with white PAFs, they look ok once you take away the white guard! I didnt want a pearloid guard cause thats already stock on the 7VWH, so i went for this cool swirled white / pale sparkle blue colour and i love it!
The PAFs are less 'harsh' than the EVOs, the alder body complements them quite well, i can get some cool strat tones, especially that YJM kinda sound. It sounds awsome clean, and gives me a little more variety, see with the EVOs, i was finding that the output was a little too much, and if i used EQ to tone it down a bit, i started to lose alot of the guitars overtones etc etc. with the PAFs, i can get the more subtle tones, and if i need too, i can always boost them with a MT2 or OD1 and get that extra punch the EVOs had.
