customize my DBK

hey

ok i bought my first jem 4 days ago, its a brand new 7DBK
it looks awesome feels great and the sound is amazing

sinc i love that axe so much i wanna make it abit special

there are 2 things im not much happy with

1. the neck

2.pickgaurd

for the neck i would really love to have the leaves inlay but no one around here can do it

i was thinking maybe order a jem555bm's neck
but i see and hear ppl goin down pretty hard on the jem555s
so is it a bad move?
is there a diffrence of the neck betwin the 555's and the other jems?
(im pretty much new for jems so help me out)

for the pickgaurd i was thinking to get something like the jem10th's

same style, anyone know if i can get something like that or have some cool costum picgaurd pics?

basicly i wanna change the look to be more gentel
same as the white but in black

anyone's help is appriciated

thanx peeps

Right well.....where do we start.....

For the neck i would say straight away click the LGM banner at the top of the page and get in touch with jeremy. All of his inlay work is amazing. And he will give you the vine inlay you are looking for on your existing neck, without having to get a horrible JEM555 neck !!

And as for the pickguard....i say go to JeaniePickguards

Anyone else got better ideas?

Re: customize my DBK

what the others said. Don't go for the 555 neck, its horrid compared to the DBK neck.

i donno about LGM

i know he's doing great job but i think it will cost me too much and (about 700$ include shipping) and staying w/o a necl for 2-3 months isnt fun =\

how much will a new vwh neck cost me? and where can i have the head painted black professionaly?

It is nearly impossible to get a VWH neck. IF you did find one, I have no idea what it would cost.

An inlay job like that is gonna be pricey anywhere!! Unless its done by some self acclaimed guitar custom shop hobo charging $50 to paste silver construction paper on the neck in the shape of a vine.

Where are you from? also its probably gonna be tough to find a VWH neck, and it would probably look wacky on a DBK cause of the gold hardware and white headstock. Probably a lost cause there...

If memory serves me right,a 7vwh neck from a certain musicshop near me would set you back £750 (i think thats what i was quoted) it was a while ago :-(

Get Jeremy to do it for ya,it'll be 1st class, and you have the added bonus of no-one else having a white vine on a DBK :-)

Search for Deno's chrome vined DBK
