Decisions, decisions??

I have a chance at a near mint FP '99 and a '03 reissue near mint.

For the guys who have played both, which one would you buy and why?

dunno, but ive heard the reissues were better.

If they're both in good condition then i'd go for the 99fp since it'll have a lo-pro bridge.(right?)

If there both at near mint condition, go for the cheaper one. The only difference is a back plate signed by Vai, Woop-ti-do.........

i dont know if the 03 has the prestige neck (not that it was a must on signature axes...)

the 99 has the lo pro, that alone would do it for me

possibly will take it to the March show and have him sign it afterwards...


What about the necks, any difference in size there? How much bigger are the FP necks to say a VWH?

I went to SA today and played a 7VSBL, new '02 that hasn't sold yet.

I talked management down to $1500 without case, from a slashed price of $1750. I took with me the post from MF selling them out for $999.

I came within a centimeter of buying it. I could visually see a blue mirror pickguard and cavity covers on it.
But I left empty handed and with a mad guitar manager. I told him I was looking at FP's and that also, I didn't know how it was going to sound with my Splawn modded Marshall (First year-1981 JCM 800).
To be honest, I liked the sound of alder alot on that guitar.


Anyway, which FP and why- keep 'em coming...money burned hole in pocket almost all the way through now...

...just a little patience or actually more like taking a little time and researching a given product always introduces interesting results...

...quite a few interesting turn of events have definitely turned up to say the least...

so that leads me to conclude that today I will buy the '99 FP and the '99 FP only
