Anyone seen the Despagni Jem on the Evil Auction Site. Wish I could afford it, but I just got a PMC and EBMM Petrucci. Someone wanna loan me?

Take anything Despagni says with a grain of salt. He may not have even considered this to be a "flame" model.
Given the paint job, routing, electronics layout and seller's location, i'd be willing to bet this is real.

I could be wrong, but i don't want people scaring this guy on his purchase, when no one really knows for sure.

I'm taking the guys location into consideration, but that's a direct answer from JD when I was trying to get to the bottom of if a flame was a Performance or a Despagni, and his flat answer was he only made one. I thought it was odd considering he used the flame in his print adds, but again, that was his reply. Send him a picture of it and the name of the original owner, you may get a different answer.

Besides, if i had done two and this was the other, don't you think it would be worth more than what it's currently at ? I think the performance Jem's were nice and they are authentic in relation to steve. More than this one anyways. Although, it just seems little weird to play on and it's not really my cup of tea.

Hey Guys,

I am the dude who bought the guitar and the seller seemed like a straight shooter and I believe it to be genuine but who knows. Who would go through all the trouble to make a fake and not paint it the color of Steves and then try to get "all the money" for it for the effort.

I just emailed him asking the history if he knew it and will let you know what he says. He also if offering a full money back guarntee on the guitar so I am sure he is legit, hopefully the guitar is!

I will post up detailed pic's when I get it and we will all see although admittdedly I have never owned one so I am not really sure what I am looing at LOL!

It's interesting to say the least. I hope it's legit but it sounds like a real Despagni with no ties to Vai other than he owned a similar one made by the same guy. I haven't see that color scheme before either.
