Difference Between BRMR and VWH?

So, things are going pretty good, both of my parents got new, better paying jobs, I got a high score on my ACT (college placement exam) and very soon im going to sign up for my audition to McNally Smith College of Music in Minneapolis, MN. Because everythings going so good, my folks said that my reward for all of my hard work (and helping pay the bills over since i was 14, due to my father being a disabled vet and not being able to get a job) would be a new guitar! yay! I just have one question; What are the differences between the JEM77BRMR and the JEM7VWH, besides the obvious ones (being finish, inlay and humbuckers)? Thanks for any help.

Re: Difference Between BRMR and VWH?

This question has been asked many times on the forum. The BRMR has a Basswood body and the VWH has an Alder one. The BRMR also doesn't have the scalloped frets on frets 21-24 like the VWH does.

Additionally the VWH has Evolution pickups and the BRMR has Breeds.

Ahh ok. I see. A friend of mine told me that the BRMR had smaller frets, but i saw a little while ago on Rich Harris' site that they both use the same wire. Thanks for the help.

No matter how much you polish it...you can't see yourself in a vwh

Re: Difference Between BRMR and VWH?

unless your a collector, get the vwh
in my honest opinion, its a much better guitar overall
better tone, better inlay, better wood and it looks better. plus it wont show scuffs, scratches and swirls as easily as the brmr.

get the brmr only if you really like the look. otherwise get the vwh.

If you look around, you can probably get a used 7VWH and have enough cash left over from the new price to get a decent small tube amp or Line 6 Spider or something. Just a thought

Re: Difference Between BRMR and VWH?

I disagree that the vwh is a far superior guitar, I have both and like the brmr much more - the breed pickups seem more versatile to me, I love the tone, and I end up playing it far more in my band than any other guitar I own. I'm not saying the vwh isn't a great guitar, it is, but I like the brmr more.
