Differences between a real jem and the 555

Hi guys


I was at a local pawn shop last weekend and saw a
Jem 7VWH used selling for $2 grand CAN.

Now I got to thinking, what are the differences exactly between those
two bodies? The reason I ask is because the Jem in the pawn shop
looked like the area around the trem had been routed a tad and with
hearing about mods being done on older 555 bodies to accomodate tremolos
it got me to thinking wether it was possible that someone could take
a 555 body and marry it with a Jem 7VWH neck and possibly
get away with it.

If so then that would suck for anyone who might pick up a possible parts mutt!

Anyways that's my two cents.
