Just thought I'd share a couple of pics of my DNA's.

#186 is on left and #195 on right. Straight from Rich's couch to your screen. Clicking the link goes to a larger (500k) picture.

Yah, but now you need to refine your technique Shooting outdoors w/ natural lighting, neutral backdrop, etc. Since you're taking baby steps... start by loosing the couch as the backdrop. The camera is only as good as the photographer

Complain, complain, complain... Gotta admit the detail is much better!! You guys that shoot a guitar every now and then can get real picky about getting the perfect shot, where I had to take pics of 22 guitars THAT day  I was going to shoot them in 35mm printed on CD, well half of them turned out 'baaaad', and that batch cost $154, so I wasn't about to figure out which half went bad to reshoot, to probably have them come out bad too! So I ran out and bought the Olympus ($423 after tax, no time to buy online), quick read of the manual, install the software, and start opening cases!! Shoot 150 pics, Photoshop them for another 3 hours, get them all linked up and loaded, and write the email to the first picks to "have fun, you've got a tough job!!! " and by 7am I'm crawlin into bed for a 4 hour nap. I do wish I had gotten a pic of each in their cases high res but the 4 days getting through the picking process, straight into packing/paperwork shipping phase, left no time. That case shot is a real nice contrast! But, the couch will always remain, it has become an entity of it's own, and is under the impression it's reach some sort of 'celebrity status' *

I'll have links to the whole separate *The Great Millenium DNA Pick Off" site online in a few days, it did end up being quite an acomplishment. Iain was extremely lucky in that he got to come and look at them in person when he picked, and at 3am left a very happy man! (or was it 4am??)

Alex, I wasn't going to mention you by name, but "THIS IS THE GUY THAT MADE ME GO BUY A $423 CAMERA!!!" Christ it cost me almost $600 to get get good pics on the web for you guys!! I spent $130 in black lights to get pics of each under BL too, but digi cams just aren't compatible with it, the guards glow too bright. Add in and DNA shirt with each, $450 in free shipping, and misc. and expenses were over $1250 just getting them out the door!! On top of the 'real' expenses! OUCH!!! Come on, who took care of you guys??? Huh? Huh?

Rich - it was 3am Just late enough for the wife to be sound enough asleep that I could seak in without any trouble ('Do you know what time it is?!') After I put the boys (186 & 195) to sleep, I had a whole 4 hrs to dream of swirls. Though, upon waking, I did have to look at them again, just to make sure I wasn't dreaming the whole thing

Glad to see that #195 made its way safely from Toronto into the hands of somebody who's so enthusiastic about the DNA's!

I do hope they're going to be played! Or is one for playing and one for collecting?

Well, I've seen these guitars up close and personal. *I must reiterate what Iain told me before I saw them in person...the pictures do them no justice. *They are super sweet. *
