I beleive it's a Fast Track1 but I could be wrong. This is from memory of something that butch posted about what was in Steve's chrome JEM with the sustainer.

It could be a FT2 though. Try doing a search for threads about the chrome JEM in the Dimarzio advert. I'm pretty sure that's the thread it was on.

I'm fairly certain that Flo has a dummy next to the sustainer driver.

FLO was originally a fernandes sustainer. that would have a dummy neck single coil for asthetics.

I know Vai sent an axe to sustainiac.com, but have no idea what happened there, or what he's using now. Not sure if his Ibanez contract would limit him from publically endorsing a sustainer, or posting more details. The lack of info presented leads me to believe that could be a factor, along with possible less than 100% satisfaction with whatever system is currently being used.

I can say after his NYC appearance for the NARAS that he should leave the sustainer axes home unless his guitar tech is not at his side to change batteries and keep it purring ...glen

The latest version of FLO has a sustainer and a Fast Track in the neck position.

if butch says it's a fastrack, then that's what is(was) installed. what is not clear is the wiring diagrams, what base sustainer system is installed w/ the fastrack, what additional mods were made nor what other sustainer axes are being used also... glen

I think (not quite sure) that the chrome jem has the sustainiac unit.

i just talked to pete at fenandez he says in fact he did the work on steve's guitar and he uses the evo bridge pickup in conjuction with the sustainer and has a fasttrack under the cover in the pics which is just his pickup he uses in the neck of the guitar.
