Dumb question about the DBK...


[mods & Glen: i searched thru the site for hours with no results]



sorry guys, i was wondering what is the "D" for on "DBK"?
probably a very dumb question but i found no answer.

Good question, and you could apply that to several other JEM's too. Maybe they just decided some of the names looked stupid or sumthing! lol

I'm surprised that they didn't come up with a different color code for "Textured Black". To me, it looks like the finish was sprayed a flat black first (or a thin coat that was more absorbed into the wood) and then gloss paint was dripped on it. It would make sense to me to keep the same color code if the body was textured first and then painted black.

If Ibanez would put every paint process step in the name of its guitars Ibanez names will look far worse than they already do now

I have a guitar that says: RG2820CTBWTW....go figure
The easy thing is the TWilight blue part, but for the rest I'm practicly clueless: It probably is something like Curly Top, but I have got no idea whatsoever about the B and W

You Euro's usually have full model #'s stamped on your shipping cartons. Probably more like Bound Wizard
