EMG 707 on Universe?

Hi....i was thinking about puting a emg 707 in the bridge popsition on one of my universes. Have anyone tried that....cos i´ve heard that the guitar needs to be adjust *to the new and bigger pickup....well is this worth it? I´m getting a UV7BK so íll probably try it on that guitar sainclairinstead of my PWH or MC. But is it still worth it?
I play kind of meshuggah style...with realy fast and i think that the blaze II pickups might not be that good for that kind of style....well let me know if i should try the 707 (or any other pickup)

Thanx in advance
Johan

On the other hand, I've heard the guys from Meshuggah claim in interviews that, because of the amount of gain they use, they had problems with the Blaze pickups and had to have them re-potted to combat feedback. Make of that what you will.

Well man i have a PWH and an RG 7621, the PWH has the Blaze II and my 7621 has an EMG 707 in the bridge and it makes the UV sound sad, that EMG is the meanest pickup in the world, you do have to do a little routing to get it in but it's very little in the corners of the pickup holes, they are well worth the sound.
Peace

I agree. The 707 is a ferocious sounding pickup. I have one in my rg7620 and it just SCREAMS. Compared to my 777GR with Blaze's the 707 just walks all over it for metal. Blazes are much more versital, but the 707s in a Uviverse through a half stack is just the most powerful sound on earth. A mandatory mod for a TRUE metal player's 7 string.

The 707 was designed in conjunction with Dino from Fear Factory. His main sound is that pickup, a custom UV through a Line 6 amp.

The guys in Meshuggah do use the OEM Blazes, but re-potted in wax to help cope with feedback.

I do get some feedback with my Blazes in the UV, but it's cool I think. *Makes me feel like every song can begin like Flying In A blue Dream.
