"EVO" sticker question

Hello all! My Jem 7VWH is so beat up for years of playing that I just decided to relic it the rest of the way and make it look like a Jem 25th, it was a fun project and I think I did a pretty good job on it. I'm curious though, when I look at the original "EVO" guitar it looks like "EVO" is written on some kind of sticker and not the actual body. Anyone know what that is? If it is a sticker, anyone found something similar online? Thanks!

Re: "EVO" sticker question

You mean the original limited edition EVO?

Steve wrote EVO on the guitar and Japan covered it with tape to protect it. Same as with the signature on the back.

I don´t think Steve wrote "EVO" o the guitar body!

They all look the same. I checked in several pics from your arquive Rich!

Re: "EVO" sticker question

Thanks for the input guys! So I went ahead and found at Ace hardware something called colored plastic tape, it's white and almost a spot on match for the white on the Jem. Came out looking good, I wouldn't be surprised if this were the same stuff he used

It was announced by Ibanez at the time.
"Steve will be signing the back of each "Steve Vai - 1 of 100", and writing "EVO" beside the claw, just like the original."
But you could be right, in the official video he says "and you got the EVO just right" when looking at it on the front, so anything is possible.
