EVOs and Ebony

Now being the proud owner of a 7VWH 1994, (apprantley), I nopw need educating, would this be an Ebony fret board I have, what are the pick ups and what is EVO?

Congrats to your 94 VWH. I also have a 94. It has an ebony fretboard and DiMarzio Evolution pups. This is i.m.h.o. the best combination.

Just to add to the last post. EVO is the name of a jem prototype given to Vai with the Evolution pu's installed. He still uses this guitar, and it is fair to say that it is has been his main guitar for most of that time. I am not sure if it has been retired yet, but it is in pretty banged up shape.

cheers mate, yes it truely is, cant stop fondling it, best guitar I`ve had in nearly 50 years of playing and I`ve had about 6 Gibsons and fenders over the years, Ibanez have certainly come into their own, back in the early 70s they only appeared to do Les paul copies, I`m seriously thinking of getting another Jem, I like the look of that blue one with all the leaves on the body

Ibanez have come a long way since then.

If you were a Les Paul player, what led you to buy a jem?
