Re: fake jem input jack
that's a fake. Even if it had a regular jack, it wouldn't have that metal plate. The metal plate is a part from a cheap Korean model- an RG 470 or lower.

Re: fake jem input jack
On one hand, there appears to be a standard Jem input jack near the end strap button. This is confirmed by the recessed input jack cover plate on the back side of the guitar. On the other hand, there is a "football" style jackplate on the edge facing the camera. The football jack is an aftermarket modification. These jacks are only used in production on
Ibanez guitars
from Korea. The Korean guitars with football jackplates do not have the recessed rear cover plate. The original jack must have an open circuit or loose contacts and it has been replaced in an unconventional manner.
If it's a Jem, it is either a 7-PBK or a 777-VBK. Does it have white
pyramid inlays
and a large oblong monkey grip or a green vine on the fretboard with a standard monkey grip?

Re: fake jem input jack
It's a 777VBK with a jack modification. Either the original jack is inoperable, or the previous owner didn't care for the Jem's recessed jack location and decided to move it.

I'm pretty sure only 5xx's and higher have seperate covers for the output jack. My brother with 17 RG's told me that ;-)

your brother lied. RGs that are 5xx or better come with barrel style jacks- not the football-shaped plate you see in that picture.
I didn't notice a little bit above in the picture. I think the guy is telling the truth. It probably was a JEM that he modified to have a normal output jack. You can see the original one in the right side of the photo.

How about you pay attention rather than saying "your brother lied" just like that? he said his brother said 5xx had SEPARATE OUTPUT CAVITY COVERS, not metal plates... and guess what? hes right...
