Fake JEMs on ****...

Anytime i see a fake JEM on **** i always report it...however this listing

i have reported twice now and its still there...If i bought that piece of **** for more than $800 i'd be pretty annoyed..

Hmmm looks like e.b.a.y is a bad word arround here....well anyway the item id No. is 280142248328

ive reported same guitar to e.b.a.y 280142248328 they dont give a **** if the buyer leaves feedback you can get in touch with them

It's definitely fake. I've often contacted the person who posted the auction to let them know that it's a fake, but I'm not sure how much more you can do than that.

Create a shi**y logon then bid about £900 upwards ... not too much so the seller smells a rat but enough to win it.

I've just had a PM asking how you can tell its a fake so here is whats wrong with 280142248328 as i see it..

Trem is a cheap floyd rose copy possibly a LO-trs (should be a LO-pro or an Edge pro)
Machine heads look cheap
Bridge pickup is NOT a dimarzio evolution
Volume/tone controls should be white not gold
The JEM 7V WH (most copied model on e.b.a.y) should NOT have a JEM Jr sticker on the headstock !(as far as i know the Jem Jr is the 555)
back of headstock looks cheap
Bolt on neck screws arent supposed to be gold

basically everything about it looks cheap, compare it with the real deal here..

Another fake just popped up 130144562975 (a 1 day listing, another ploy used by scammers) this one looks more accurate but the trem gives it away for me.

edit : No130144562975 says in small print "Looks and feels just like the real thing"

also he says 100% positive feedback (yeah no feedback as a seller only as a buyer on 1pence ebooks all bought on the 14th and 15th of august !!)
also doesnt accept paypal ( so his 7-day no questions asked return policy is worth about the same as his positive feeback i.e. Nothing !)

I sent this guy an email saying that it's a fake and that he should relist it stating that it is a copy so he responded saying "If thats what you think then

The back of the guitar tells you plenty.

The neck appears to be one piece of wood, rather than the current 5-piece necks. There's no volute. The bolt holes are too close together at the neck-to-body joint. The cavity plates are shaped wrong on the back. The one over the output jack is square-ish rather than the more rounded Ibanez type. The handle is shaped wrong, also.

The "buying guides" that the auction site provides is probably the best bet to counter the fake Ibanez guitars. And the auction site should probably force the auction poster to state that it is not authentic. Perhaps Ibanez should even put up their own buying guide on e-b-a-y.

You know,....it would be funny if somehow Ed roman was somehow involved in this. One of his Scorpion customized-Jems looks sort of like a Chibanez.

the bid now for item 280142248328 £481 thats nearly $1000 disgrace,on the headstock its jem jnr so thats a dead giveaway,he only accepts cheques so after the auction it will tell you whos won the bid,so that will give ppl penty of time to tell the buyer they been ripped right off

The buyer is me. I decided to win the auction (using an unimportant backup account, with a modified username and non-existent address details), purely to f**k with the seller.

I see no reason why it should be made easy for this guy to peddle his chibanez crap. **** clearly don't care. Arrowman reported this auction, as did I, as did how many others??

I just emailed a guy about his fake he is selling. this is the response i got:
