Fitting a Roland GK3 on a Jem

Hi guys I've recently picked up a roland gr20 with the gk3 midi pickup and it won't fit on my jem, does anyone else have the same problem.

Even without the spacers the pickup alone is way too high and the strings catch on it. I know i could cut the scrathplate behind the bridge humbucker which would probably give me the required couple of mm or raise the action till the guitar is barely playable but i was wondering if this is a problem any of you guys have encountered and if theres any other solution cause atm i'm totally stumped.

I had the same issue with a GK2 a few years back on my DBK. I did cut out the scratch plate to make it fit. I also did the full installation of the electronics under the pickguard and added the volume control and push buttons on mine along with the permanent jack in the body. (Of course, since then I have replaced the pickguard with a new one and it looks stock (except for the jack) now. I was able to get mine to play pretty nicely with the pickup installed though. Much better than the Roland Ready Strat P.O.S. that I had before that.

thanks mate, looks like chopping the pickguard is my only option than. I'll get at it tonight.
