Floral Universe UV777FP

I saw Steve playing a Floral JEM guitar live and in the studio for years but I dreamed about the nice idea to see him holding a swirly Universe finished in that striking Floral Pattern graphics. This 7-string floral beauty would have the usual HSH pickup combination of DiMarzio Blaze IIs, a Prestige neck with pyramid-shaped position markers and a 24-fret Pao ferro fretboard, as well as a recessed Double Edge 7 double-locking tremolo with piezos for acoustic-like tones.

+1 I have thought of that too, actually, a 7-string version of the FP as well as the BFP, any Jem as a 7-string would look cool, it seems as though it would've happened back in the early 90's, not likely to see it happen, would be cool if it did though. Any new UV would be nice.

Re: Floral Universe UV777FP

I came into this thread eager for pics when I saw the title, and found only a dream.

Great idea though, a floral universe would be PERFECT. The piezo is just the icing on the cake.

It would have to have pyramids though, seven string vines look weird.

I acquired one from Rich last March of 2005- http://www.shawncastonguay.com/uv7pwh.html

I don't know if I'd ever put a pearloid pickguard and on it and go for the VWH look though, it's staying the way it is but the one on EKG's site as Andre
suggested is nice though.

A 7-string version of a PGM 90th would rule.

Re: Floral Universe UV777FP

Have you wondered about a swirly UV777VSBL, perhaps? Well, Ibanez no longer made the JEM7VSBL, which was available for 2/3 years only. This guitar featured a striking blue finish contrasted by a beautiful parchment pickguard. It has also been loaded with a trio of DiMarzio Breeds for a wide range of screaming hot humbucker and clean single-coil tones. Good thing for anyone seeking an "Evo" UV777VWH, fashioned after Steve's main axe. But this UV777VWH, as well as all Universe guitars, is made from American Basswood, while "Evo" uses select solid alder bodies with "monkey grip" handles.

Some 6-string JEMs had pyramid inlays on their fretboards like the 7-string Universes and this thing would be an extremely rare and unusual feature for a normal 6-string guitar.
