Re: Full Review: Steve Vai's The Evo Experience and concert...

I basically did the Evo experience, I just didn't get all of the perks. I knew some people at the venue Steve was playing and I pulled some strings to hang around backstage. I got to talk with all the band members. I was especially impressed with Dave Weiner; what a nice guy! Very humble as well. I gots to meet Steve and grab a pic with him. He also signed my pmc as it was in his dressing room. To anyone on the fence about doing this, I definitely recommend it!

Iphone flash makes Steve and I both look like cancer patients :/

My wife is the best!!!

So today is our two year anniversary.. we're going to a bed and breakfast in a few days.... but she made me this cool shadow box from the Steve Vai goodie bag I got from our meet and greet.

It has the Strap he signed, a pick, hand written notation by Steve, the Evo Experience pass and a few other things...

Then after I hung it up between my two Jems...

She's the best!!!

I bought tickets for me and friend in Nov. How 'intimate' is it as far as number of people?

Re: Full Review: Steve Vai's The Evo Experience and concert...

Hi friends who got chance to go to th Evo Experience,

I paid online for the evo experience the 19 of September
in Bordeaux France on Steve Vai website. I paid the 21 of july and since that day, nothing expect a mail wich told me that "I had a reservation for that great day".
Is it normal ?
No more mail, nothing in my letterbox by the postman...
This only mail I received on my computer from the Vai website was an "no reply mail". So I can not have anymore information...

Please. Anyone can help me ???

Manta.

Yeah. This happened to us. We didn't get an email until a few weeks before the show.

I'm sure it's fine. I would wait for a week or two before the show before starting to look into it.

That is certainly more than a concert and appears to be a life changing experience. It looks like a lot of fun.

Re: Full Review: Steve Vai's The Evo Experience and concert...

I had the pleasure of the EVO Experience on Saturday in Glasgow.

My mate and I did a similar meet and greet at a Joe Satriani gig a couple of months ago but the EVO Experience was so much better. Meeting Joe was great but it was a bit limited. A handshake, a few words, a photo and a signature. We also got to wander around on stage before the show, but we were told (quite reasonably) DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING!

With Steve, it was a 45 minute chat with about 20 of us, photos, signatures etc Then we witnessed about an hour and a half of sound check. It's clear that SSV is a real perfectionist fine tuning the arrangements and telling the band and lighting crew where they had been slightly off cue the night before. Anyway it was pretty fascinating and THEN we had the show - all two and a half hours of it - humour, stage antics, funny dancing and face pulling as well as all the awesome guitar playing. The band were amazing too...

When we doing the photos earlier, Steve had EVO there too. I asked him, is that the real one or one of the replicas? He said yes, it's the real thing - pick it up if you like. I didn't need to be told twice!
