Good GC price for Jem7vwh?
I had the chance to play a 7vwh at one of the Guitar Centers in Chicago and I absolutely loved how it played and sounded.
How much could I realistically expect to talk down a Guitar Center employee into selling me a new jem7vwh for? I'd rather not pay 2200...Or is there a better place I should go to for a good deal? I know there's always plenty of them in the classifieds on here and ****, but paying in one lump sum would be harder for me than paying for it over time...
Also, I'm really diggin' the 7vsbl especially with the custom
pearloid pickguard
(I've seen that picture a billion times already and I love it every time
) Would it be better to try to find a nice 7vsbl??
What do you guys think? I know you know way more than I do about this stuff, so any help would be appreciated...
Thanks!
Chris

Re: Good GC price for Jem7vwh?
Dayum...$ 2,200
There is a brand new Vwh at the GC here for $ 1,700.00 (and they may go down a bit if you show interest)
Shop around a bit. Have you contacted Rich??
Vsbl with a pearloid pickguard???
what a fabulous idea

Re: Good GC price for Jem7vwh?
Well, I say 2200 because that is the price I see it most commonly going for on most big name websites and stuff (or 2100, I don't remember).
1700 would be much nicer on the wallet - wow. Well, if the GC there can sell it for 1700 or less, than the one here should be able to, dammit! By my logic anyway...
Rich as in Ibanezrules? I did the thing where you can get a price quote via email and his quote was 2215...yeesh. That's why I'm wondering if maybe I should just try to find a slightly used or mint one from someone on here...or go for the tasty 7vsbl

Maybe this will help in your decision
But they are pretty had to find and you may end up paying more.
Look around a bit
the pics are flying today
BTW - the pearloid guard is at least $ 70.00 (just FYI)

Actually, Ishibashi has one for 168,000 yen, which is around $1500. They have a couple BSBs there too.

1800 would also be much better than 2200 - thanks for the info!

A LOT because the've suddenly become desirable
In part I'm sure because they are discontinued.
Sure glad I got one when they came out. (despite peoples rantings)
I haven't seen a vsbl for sale in a while (not that I'm looking though)
Here's another to wet your whistle
Hmmm.....which do you like better??

Dang...I was hoping I'd be able to find a 7vsbl...
I have to say they both look pretty sexy in that pic - I'd be happy with either, but something about the 7vsbl is calling to me...probably cuz my favorite color is blue.

I'm sure you can for the right price. I just haven't seen many for sale lately, but like I said, I'm not looking
I do prefer my vsbl over my vwh.
Please don't tell Steve

As far as the specs between the two, they're the same aren't they, besides for cosmetically, that is?

Yep (as long as it's not an 03' or earlier vwh with
ebony board
)
However, I did notice an almost aluminum foil type backing on the VWH pearloid pickguard that the plain white strattish stock vsbl guard does not have. Not sure what all that's about, but my vsbl has it now too

Do you have the ebony on yours or the rosewood? What is the difference in playability and sound between them?

A japanese
music store
. The U box is their online used stock. They currently have a VSBL in stock that would probably be around 1500 shipped. I would buy it if I had cash
Lets see if this link works
http://www.ishibashi.co.jp/srch/search.cgi
EDIT: No it doesn't. Okay, click the menu and select the third option. Then type ibanez in the box and hit enter to search the UBox. The VSBL should be on the first page.
